JCC: Sino-Soviet Split: Soviet Union
Location TBD
Comrades, while the relations with the Chinese Communist Party have been degrading for some time, Stalin’s death has caused a great upset in the USSR’s relationship with China. Our cooperation with the West during World War II and its policy of coexistence with western countries has caused an ideological divide between the two communist nations. Is this divide able to be bridged, or is it too late to get the Soviet Union and China back on the same path?
Director
Quinlan Duprey
Quinlan is a freshman member of the International Relations Club from New Hampshire. This year, he has been able to direct at both WMHSMUN and WMIDMUN, as well as travel the circuit with W&M’s Model UN travel team. He has enjoyed his previous experiences directing and on the circuit and hopes to bring that experience to this committee. He is looking forward to seeing delegates in Williamsburg this April!
Crisis Director
Justin Causey
Justin is currently a senior here at the College of William and Mary set on graduating this May, and is majoring in both Government and History. He has been an active member of the International Relations Club since September 2023, though he has been staffing MUN conferences since fall 2022. He currently resides in Virginia Beach; however he grew up in the Williamsburg area and in many ways still considers it his home. He is so excited to work with students who are just as passionate about international relations and politics as he is, and he can't wait to see how delegates work through all the challenges that lie ahead for this committee!
