The Honorable Craig Allen is the president of the U.S.-China Business Council, a private, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization which represents over 270 American companies conducting business with and in the People's Republic of China. Prior to assuming presidency of the USCBC in July 2018, he served the United States government for almost 40 years, with his career in public service beginning in 1985 at the Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration (ITA). He has since served in Taipei, Beijing, and Tokyo, and was promoted to the Senior Foreign Service in 1999. Besides his work abroad, he also served with the National Center for APEC in Seattle, where he contributed to the success of Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summits (APEC) in Brunei, China, and Mexico. Most recently, he occupied the post of U.S. Ambassador to Brunei-Darussalam from 2014-2018, until transitioning to his current role as USCBC's sitting president. He holds a B.A. in Political Science and Asian Studies from the University of Michigan and a Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
