Meet the Secretariat
Andrew Herrup
Secretary-General
Andrew is a senior from Alexandria, Virginia majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in sociology. He has been involved with IRC since his freshman year and served as last years Director of Registration for &MUN XI. Outside of IRC, Andrew loves to listen to music (Frank Ocean, Tyler the Creator, and Fleetwood Mac are his favorites) as well as hangout with friends, family, and cook. He is also a member of the Co-Ed service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega. Andrew cannot wait to meet delegates and is eager for &MUN XII!
Jessica Liu
Director-General
Jessica is a rising senior from Ashburn, Virginia majoring in International Relations and minoring in economics. She has staffed in previous &MUN conferences and most recently served as USG-Crisis for WMHSMUN XXXVI. In her free time, Jessica likes to bake, find new study spots near campus, and hang out with friends. She is looking forward to seeing all the delegates this upcoming spring at &MUN XII!
Aidan Smith
Under-Secretary General—Crisis
Aidan is a junior from New Canaan, Connecticut double majoring in government and engineering physics. In addition to his involvement with &MUN, Aidan competes on W&M’s travel MUN team, plays club lacrosse, is a member of Greek life, competes on W&M’s ASNE PEP team, and participates in research through W&M geoLab. When he’s not on campus, he enjoys snowboarding, boating, fishing, and any other way to get into the outdoors. Aidan is thrilled to be working on &MUN and can’t wait to help make it the best one yet!
Sofia Simonian
Under-Secretary General—Specialized/General assemblies
Sofia is a sophomore from Woodbridge, Virginia majoring in International Relations and Russian and Post-Soviet Studies. This will be her second year on the secretariat after serving as the Director of Technology for &MUN XI. Besides MUN, Sofia plays the balalaika in the Eastern European Music Ensemble and has joined geoLab at W&M this year. She is looking forward to having another great &MUN!
Peter Awabdeh
Director of Registration
Peter Awabdeh is a third-year at the College majoring in Economics and Government. He has been involved with Model United Nations since middle school and continues to hold a passion for it. He has served as the former Director of Finance for the International Relations Club at William & Mary and currently serves as the Director of Legal Compliance for the organization. He has served as a crisis director for both &MUN X and &MUN XI. Outside of Model UN, Peter is involved with undergraduate research, plays the violin, and enjoys listening to music. He is so excited to collaborate with all our attending schools and hopes to provide a fulfilling experience to all our delegates.
Annabel Richter
Director of External Relations
Annabel is a senior from McLean, Virginia majoring in Global Studies with a concentration in East Asian Studies and a minor in Data Science. Outside of W&M’s International Relations Club, she is an active member of her sorority, Delta Delta Delta, and works as a Research Fellow for the Project on International Peace and Security (PIPS). Her hobbies include hiking, rock climbing, reading fantasy books, and playing cozy video games like Stardew Valley on Switch. She is excited to work with &MUN for the first time on the XII Secretariat to make this year’s events and conferences as amazing as possible!
Evey Thompson
Chief of Staff
Evelyn is a senior from Stafford, Virginia, majoring in International Relations and minoring in Psychology. This is her first year serving in the &MUN secretariat, but previously she served as Vice President of Campus Affairs for the International Relations Club through her sophomore and junior year. Outside of IRC, Evey works with the Global Research Institute, interns for the U.S. Army War College, and spends time strolling around Colonial Williamsburg searching for lambs and ice cream.
Bianca Sauro
Director of Media
Bianca is a senior from Silver Spring, Maryland majoring in Marketing and minoring in Environmental Science and Policy. This is her first year as an official part of IRC, but she has been involved with &MUN since her sophomore year. Besides school and extracurriculars, Bianca loves to bullet journal, write, and hang out with her friends. She was the Director of Media for &MUNXI and is thrilled to be back!
Brennen Fender
Director of Events
Brennen is a junior from Punta Gorda, Florida majoring in International Relations. He has been a member of IRC since his late freshman year and directed at &MUN XI. Aside from Model UN, Brennen is a member of the Sigma Pi fraternity and loves to travel with his friends and family. Brennen is excited to serve as your director of events for &MUN XII and give delegates a fun weekend!
Kelson Lowrie
Charge d’affaires
Kelson is a freshman from Somerset, NJ, majoring in Government and Economics. This is his first year in IRC and serving on &MUN Secretariat. Besides IRC, he is on the club swim team, as well as a member of HEMA(Medieval sword fighting), and Archery club.
